As Manchester’s leading Christmas decorators, we love Christmas and Christmas in Manchester just gets bigger and better every year.
If you are looking to visit Manchester over Christmas, or maybe you live here and want to know where to go to enjoy the festivities, here are some of our top tips for the season of goodwill.
Manchester Christmas Markets
We love the award winning Manchester Christmas Markets; the atmosphere is amazing, the food is wonderful and the variety of drinks available aren’t bad either! Our particular favourite is a hot glühwein from one of the stands in Albert Square, though this year that will be a much smaller affair due to renovations at the Town Hall.
Commencing on Friday 8th November and running until Saturday 21st December, this year, there are a range of locations throughout the city centre, offering food, drink, handicrafts, jewellery, toys and Christmas Gifts for all the family.
What started as a relatively small ‘German Market’ has expanded over the years to now include separate areas for German, French and World Christmas markets as well as a dedicated Arts and Crafts market.
This year’s locations are;
General Christmas Markets with all types of stalls;
Cathedral Gardens Christmas Market
Market Street Christmas Market
Exchange Square Christmas Market
Corn Exchange Christmas Market
New Cathedral Street Christmas Market
Exchange Street Arts and Crafts Market
King Street French Christmas Market
St Ann’s Square German Christmas Market
Brazennose Street World Christmas Market
Manchester Christmas Lights Switch On
This year, for the first time, the event will be moving away from the traditional Albert Square venue and instead be just down the road on Deansgate. The date of the switch on is Thursday 14th November 2019 and the actual switch on will be at the Northern end of Deansgate, near Manchester Cathedral.
